I needed my character to be placed in my level as an NPC rather than a player character, as this fits my original group's idea for the narrative. Ideally the pharaoh would be placed in the throne room of our group project, but as we split into individuals, I decided that I would place the pharaoh in the hero asset room as it is the most grand. At first I placed him in the L room, which was too dark, and then changed the location. I then reduced his size very slightly in the game as he was about a head taller than the UE4 mannequin.
I used keyframe animation to make a basic set of moving poses - mainly hands on hips, and arms shifting around. I also moved his head to look around.
I think that having this idle animation suited my pharaoh a lot better than the UE4 default idle animation, as he looks more regal and less hunched over and aggressive, which is how the original animation looked.
